Intention & Rationale
The scene is designed to be a quirky home environment that includes the picture taken for the short story Skin Holes - a story about mutilation and being controlled. The choice of frame is to help create a "home" feel and its normality is to provide a juxtaposition to the disturbing photograph, the same applies to the lamp and table. The wall paper was chosen for its quirky look, and the red seemed a nice contrast to the dark picture. The intention of the note left on the table, is to provide text to help the viewer establish some context, and to add a personal human element to the scene.

I am interested to know if you are going to set up this whole scene at CIT for assesment, if thats you idea then I love it. Its definatly thinking outside the square and a really unique way of presenting your work.
ReplyDeleteThats the plan man.
ReplyDeleteAwesome work Steve! The presentation of it is awesome! It fits the story and the actual photograph perfectly!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I am looking forward to seeing it all set up!
He he - it looks better on the blog, oh well its all good fun anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe final composition on the blog looks fantastic. Looked great in the classroom too but the darker night time surrounds really set it off. Well done. Do hope your wife & children enjoy it in your home hallway!
